Day 5

Day 5 is here and I'm still going strong. So far I haven't had motivation problems. I'm sure I will encounter those in the future though. Hopefully I can work through them. So, my legs are really feeling the Plyo workout from last night. I was tight and sore when I woke up this morning but I loosened up pretty quickly. I just completed the Bicepts and Shoulders DVD just now. It was hard but not so hard I couldn't keep up. Again, I'm only doing half of the amount of time for the first week or two. I also did 20 minutes on the treadmill earlier this afternoon.

I'm doing good on my Weight Watchers today. I have to be careful tonight however. There is a bunch of us going to the horse track tonight and I have to limit my beer and food intake. I don't want to blow everything I've done today.

Tomoorow is Yoga.

Day 4

Not Feeling too bad today. The chest is definitely feeling yesterday's workout but nothing I can't handle. Tonight was Plyometrics. It was hard! Only made it through half before I had to stop. I did 20 minutes on the treadmill after that though.

Did pretty well with my Weight Watchers today but I may have gone over a little. We had an offsite at work today (at the Boeing Leadership Center) and the food there is amazing. I really didn't know how many points some of the stuff was but I estimated it the best I could.

Day 3

I've been a little sore today. I didn't realize how many muscles you use when you're hitting a heavy bag. My back, shoulders, bicepts, tricepts, & obliques are all feeling it.

Tonight's P90X workout was Chest and Back. It was rough. Lots of push ups and pull ups. I only made it half way through. When they started the second set, I had to bow out. Hopefully next week I'll be able to complete the whole disk. We'll see.

I stayed within my Weight Watchers points again today (barely though). I only have 1 point left. Ha! Thank God the days almost over. I was afraid I'd go over today because my group at work had another food day. I've only been there a week and a half and we've already had 2 food days. I think they're trying to sabotage me. :)

Day 2

Well, today I had some issues. My new team at work had a going away lunch at TGI Fridays for the guy I'm replacing. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with a salad instead of fries. I told the waiter that I didn't want any cheese or butter on the sandwich. When it came, it had cheese AND the bread had been buttered on both sides and toasted! :( I was going to send it back but we were short on time (not to mention my new boss was sitting right across from me). So...I ate it. It was delisious but I have no idea how many points there were. I was extra good tonight though for dinner so hopefully it all evens out.

Then I came down stairs to do my P90X and I had some technical issues. Don't really have time to go into the details but long story short, I couldn't do it tonight. I should have everything fixed tomorrow I hope. So instead I did a little of 20 minutes on the treadmill and then I worked my heavy bag for 15 to 20 more. I'm a little sore from the Kenpo X last night so probably not a bad idea to go easy tonight anyway. I want to ease into this program as I mentioned yesterday.

Day 1 - 7/27/09 - 198.6 lbs

I stayed within my Weight Watchers point range today. I only used 27.5 of my 31 points. I didn't feel hungry at all. That was a nice surprise. I think as long as I choose my foods carefully, I should have no problems staying within my limits.

I started my exercise tonight by riding 20 minutes on my recumbent bike. I worked up a pretty good sweat and then jumped right in to my first P90X video. I actually started the program out of order however. My wife is going to be doing some of the workouts with me and she was in the mood to do some kickboxing. For that reason, I started the program with Kenpo X. It consisted of some stretching at the beginning and then a lot of punching/kicking. It was a good workout. We got interrupted about two thirds of the way through however and ended up not finishing. I'm actually ok with that though because I think I'm going to have to ease into this program. It seems like it's going to be very tough and I don't want to get so sore that I give up. My plan is to get through at least half of each 1 hour video each night for the first couple of weeks. Then, once my body starts getting into a little better condition, I'll start doing the whole routine.

1 day down...89 more to go!
